Kanye Album Review: Kanye’s 45 Minute Rant
Essentially this album was nothing more than a 45 minute RANT! His anger through most of the album improved his lyrical ability and pushed his delivery far ahead any of his previous work.
The only thing that prevented this album from being great was production. In terms of production its a step away from the mellow and cool Yezzy we’ve grown to know and love and another step into the crazy, weird, and eerie sound that left many of us dumbfounded upon the release on ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’.
It seems Kanye wanted to follow in the foot steps of his highly respected and loved production of Monster. Yes, it’s similar to Monster if you take away the greatness and add ten doses of crazy!
In terms of sales surprisingly it’s doing familiarly well on the charts. Not as well as previous Kanye Albums but considering he hasn’t promoted it at all it’s selling fairly well. Ye has accumulated 475,432 copies in the US off this album. Is this album a commercial failure? No. Could have sold better if promoted? Yes.
